"Long Tail Therory" Is it happening?!

When ever i go out shopping i tend to get out as soon as i can. I go to specific stores for the things i need such as games, food, and clothing. The niche stores make it easier for me to find what i need quickly. A question comes from the "Long Tail" Theory and what it has to do with web writing. I think it has to do with a lot of it. From the market being in a shift, web writers and designers have to be more specific and represent whatever niche the work with. Web writers not only have to have details but need to update constantly which is continuous work for any web writer. In our generation the Web has become one of the rising sources for us to find the things we want and need on the internet.

Web Design

There are many different custom designs. I think some of these have a really organized look and can help bring in views of the site. Some have a more welcoming look from the varied colors and navigation mapped. Text on some of the sites have bigger text more pleasing to the eye for some people which can also help.

Daffy Duck in the Web?

Daffy Duck is illustrated in this clip with a lot of what we have learned. He goes through the cartoon with absolutely no goal or no point. He is constantly being changed that and his setting. This can relate to a website that is constantly being developed and updated. He is placed in different settings with the wrong character. In the end it turns out to be bugs which can also be considered a developer tweaking sites till they are set perfect.

Site like a drug

Facebook for me is one of those "Heroin Content" sites. I find my self checking it everyday. Not only is the content always updated or new things being put on the site, but friends and family leave you comments and messages which make you want to check them constantly. In our group project we are gonna try to link a Blog site to it where people can leave blogs and stories and have comments about them. This will help people to come back and check whats new. We will also keep activities and such updated for people to attend.

Net Writer Friendly?

This article "Is The Net Good For Writers?" is basically asking Web , and commercial writers whether or not the net is a good place to write. Some say that the web is a good place to write, though there is not much money to be made on the web. Some writers have blogs and there own sites they run but making money for a living is a lot harder then article, and magazine writing. The article also compares the difference between writers and writing. Many people like to write and publish on the web but the difference is writers are commit to writing as there way of financial support. (A Job)

Too Much Information on the Web?

We are now at a time wher ethe Web can be used by anyone who can access the internet, via locally or wirelessly. There are no laws that disallow any people to publish information on the web. I have been to many sites which the information is not credible. You can usually tell by the unproffesional manner the data is layed out. The sites such as Windows and Cnn should be used for when we are in need of definate reliable information. Other sites i believe should be used as other "second hand" resources, for extra insurance if need be.

Video Game Blogs

I did a little searching around with Google and Yahoo search engines, and found many sites that had blogged video games. Video games are a big part of some peoples lives (myself admittedly) and having blogs all across the web is not a surprise to myself. A few specific topics that caught my interest was, Manhunt on the Nintendo Wii and PS3 not having backwards compatibility for Europeans new shipped 40 Gig PS3. There have always been a huge controversy with the game Manhunt. Its a game were your a convict taking place in a real life movie scene of some director directing the criminal to kill people. You play as the convict and murder people in horrific ways. The Second Manhunt is going to be on the Nintendo which by most people and companies believe to be a family and children's console. The problem is many think the game should not be released on the console, with the possibility of kids playing it and damage there view on murdering people. I myself understand that there is a problem with children playing it. Though there is a Mature Rating Slapped on the game, doesn't stop children from getting there hands on it and playing it. The PS3 was released with it being able to play Playstation 1 and 2 video games. Sony decided to cut cost by taking away this nice ability for Playstation Users. I like the fact that Sony is cutting the cost of there system cause I myself would like one in the future. I'm sure that some of the EU buyers will be greatly upset but, most game customers willing the buy the PS3 already have the ps2 statistically. So if they really want to play there old games they could just use there old console though, it would be nice to not have to switch consoles.
