I get to rewrite this cause apparently it did not post last time and I am just noticing now :) actually :(
There are many ways to detect distrust from web based materials. I myself find out by a few methods. The first ways is by knowing the site. Most news reports and other media sites have been credited and should always have the most up to date and true stories. They are published to be true, and if they were not the site could be sued in some aspects. Other not trusted sites i check references, such as the trusted sites. I compare the information given and see how well it stacks up to the references. If indeed they are trustworthy I acknowledge the information given. As a producer of writing ,the easiest go to route is by always making reference of where you find the information you are publishing. Keeping a good professional tone also helps readers believe that the information is indeed accurate. Wikipedia being and open source to anyone, to edit, and publish makes it all right to do what you want with any information. If you post your own information and edit it, it should definitely not be a problem to change it. Ethically if its something that was accurate and honest and edited to make distrust worthy creates problems for anyone that reads it.
